A woman allegedly used a belt to attack her man friend after she caught him watching pornography.

Angela Davis, 29, of Summerfield, was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of aggravated battery at the home she shares with the man, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The dispute started that morning when Davis discovered the man watching pornography on his phone and masturbating, the report said. The man told deputies that Davis “became angry” and asked to see his phone. She discovered communication between the man and someone on the website Reddit.

The man left the home for a school dropoff and he headed to work. He checked his rearview mirror and saw that Davis was following him. When he arrived at his place of employment, he explained the situation to his supervisor and was told to take the day off.

He arrived back home and was met there by Davis, who had “wrapped a leather belt with a large metal buckle around her fist.” The man threatened to call 911, but Davis knocked the phone from his hand. When he reached down to pick up the phone, Davis used the belt to “hit him several times” on his arms and back. He fled outside.

The man suffered “several red marks across the back” and “a large raised red lump that was swollen and starting to bruise on the victim’s left upper arm,” the report said.

“This lump had very good detail and appeared to be the buckle of a belt,” the deputy wrote in the report.

In addition to the aggravated battery charge, she was arrested on a charge of depriving use of 911.

She was booked at the Marion County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
